Under the slogan "data is like a gym membership - it has no value unless you use it" (Harriet Fryman, Vice President of Growth, IBM Analytics) Matthias Förster of WI1 presented his research on the subjects of value of data and data-focused business model innovation at this year's BMW Ph.D. Dialogue Day in Munich. With his research he makes an important contribution to determine the value of data, understand data roles in business models and develop future data-driven businesses. Through fruitful discussions with professors, managers and other doctoral students, the event provided a great opportunity for science and practice to jointly rise to the challenge of digital transformation.
